Business Members - Retailer

We welcome those who retail baby carriers to join us with this voting membership. BCIA Business Members:

  • provide superior baby carriers, components of baby carriers, or services to manufacturers, distributors, retailers and, ultimately, parents;
  • support the mission statement and purpose of the BCIA; 
  • are dedicated to furthering the adoption of babywearing in our culture and to introducing parents to the biological norm of babywearing.

We offer our Business Members the following benefits:

  • business listing on the BCIA website
  • e-newsletter with important industry news updates and information from BCIA
  • priority referrals to media
  • access to international research on babywearing and baby carriers
  • access to the membership directory
  • valuable networking opportunities
  • reduced rates of advertising in all BCIA publications
  • group buying power
  • participation in BCIA business forums
  • the opportunity to vote on all policy and to run for elected positions
  • privilege of using the BCIA logo on your company website and publications
  • invitation to participate in cooperative advertising or marketing efforts
  • participation in a certification program for baby carriers and components

Retailer - Bronze Level - $100/year
Bronze level retailers are highly committed to providing safe, ethically produced products to the general public and to furthering the work of the BCIA.
  • A Bronze level retailer may be a company or individual who:
  • sells a minimal selection of babywearing products;
  • may be just starting in the babywearing industry;
  • has annual sales of up to $10,000.
 Retailer - Silver Level - $250/year
Silver level retailers are highly committed to providing safe, ethically produced products to the general public and to furthering the work of the BCIA.
  • A Silver level retailer may be a company or individual who:
  • relies on the baby carrier industry for a substantial part of their income;
  • has been in business for up to 3 years;
  • has annual sales of up to $50,000.
Retailer - Gold Level - $500/year
Gold level retailers are highly committed to providing safe, ethically produced products to the general public and to furthering the work of the BCIA.
  • A Gold level retailer may be a company or individual who:
  • specializes in baby carriers;
  • retails baby carriers as a primary component of the business;
  • has been in business for up to 5 years;
  • has annual sales of up to $500,000.
 Retailer - Platinum Level - $1,000/year
Platinum level retailers are highly committed to providing safe, ethically produced products to the general public and to furthering the work of the BCIA.
  • A Platinum level retailer may be a company or individual who:
  • works exclusively in selling baby carriers;
  • retails baby carriers as primary component of the business;
  • has been in business for over 7 years;
  • has annual sales in excess of $500,000.
Retailer - Emerald Level - $2500/year
Emerald level businesses are highly committed to providing the general public with safe baby carrier information or companion products and to furthering the work of the BCIA.
  • An Emerald level related business may be a company or individual who:
  • has works exclusively in a baby carrier related field;
  • is well established in a companion industry;
  • has annual sales of $500,000 to $1 million.
 Retailer - Diamond Level - $5000/year
Diamond level businesses are highly committed to providing the general public with safe baby carrier information or companion products and to furthering the work of the BCIA.
  • A  Diamond level related business may be a company or individual who:
  • relies on the baby carrier industry for their income;
  • is well established in a companion industry;
  • has annual sales of over $1 million.
